LLRIB Chief and Council Announced

Cook-Searson Re-Elected as Chief

Official results have been released for last month's election for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB).

Tammy Cook-Searson has been re-elected as Chief with 1502 votes. The announcement was made by the Chief and Council of the LLRIB on March 26, 2020.

The election, which had originally been scheduled for March 2023, was postponed due to a recount of votes. Cook-Searson was first elected Chief in 2019.

Three people challenged Cook-Searson for the position of Chief:

  • Former Chief Tammy Cook-Searson
  • Jason Gordon
  • Daniel Ross

The LLRIB is located in northern Saskatchewan and has a population of approximately 8,000 people. The Band provides a variety of services to its members, including health care, education, and social assistance.
