A Father's Grief

Dennis Rader, the infamous "BTK" serial killer, was shocked and devastated to learn that his daughter, Kerri Rawson, had been murdered.

"He was completely devastated," said Rawson's mother, Paula Dietz. "He couldn't believe it."

A Horrific Crime

Rawson, 43, was found dead in her Wichita, Kansas home on January 16, 2023. She had been strangled.

Police have charged 28-year-old Jake Creech with Rawson's murder. Creech is a former co-worker of Rawson's.

A Family Torn Apart

The murder of Rawson has left her family reeling.

"It's just been a nightmare," said Dietz. "We can't believe she's gone."

Rader, who is serving a life sentence in prison for the murders of 10 people, has expressed his condolences to Rawson's family.

A Complex Relationship

Rader had a strained relationship with his daughter.

Rawson was born in 1978, while Rader was serving time for a series of burglaries.

Rader did not meet his daughter until she was 16 years old.

Moving Forward

Rawson's family is now trying to move forward after her tragic death.

"We're just trying to take it one day at a time," said Dietz.

"We'll never forget Kerri, and we'll always love her."
