Despite not being a bastion for producing NFL talent, the BYU Cougars have proven they can develop exceptional quarterbacks.

Zach Wilson's college career took off with the BYU Cougars before he was selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. He signed with the Cougars on Dec. 21 as part of college football's first early signing day and enrolled in January 2018.

Wilson quickly made an impact for BYU, starting eight games as a true freshman in 2018. He passed for 2,658 yards and 22 touchdowns, completing 65.2% of his passes. He also rushed for 254 yards and four touchdowns.

Wilson's sophomore season in 2019 was even more impressive. He started all 13 games, passing for 3,692 yards and 33 touchdowns, completing 67.1% of his passes. He also rushed for 295 yards and three touchdowns.

Wilson's breakout season came in 2020, when he led the Cougars to an 11-1 record and a No. 11 ranking in the final AP Poll. He passed for 3,692 yards and 33 touchdowns, completing 73.5% of his passes. He also rushed for 254 yards and four touchdowns.

Wilson's impressive college career has led to him being projected as a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the draft and has the potential to be a franchise-changing player in the NFL.
