Zach Wilson: BYU's Quarterback Who Can't Miss

From Unheralded Recruit to Heisman Contender

BYU's Zach Wilson has emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in college football.

Wilson, a 6-foot-3, 214-pound junior, exploded onto the scene in 2020. He led BYU to an 11-1 record and the No. 11 ranking in the final College Football Playoff poll. Wilson threw for 3,692 yards and 33 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He also rushed for 254 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Wilson's impressive performance earned him a spot on the Heisman Trophy ballot. He finished eighth in the voting, becoming the first BYU player to receive Heisman votes since Ty Detmer in 1990.

Wilson's success is a testament to his hard work and dedication. He was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and was not heavily recruited by major college programs. However, Wilson worked hard to improve his skills and became a starting quarterback at BYU in 2019.

In 2020, Wilson took his game to another level. He became one of the most accurate passers in college football, completing 73.5% of his passes. He also showed off his athleticism, rushing for 254 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Wilson's performance has made him one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL Draft. He is projected to be a first-round pick and could be one of the first quarterbacks taken off the board.

Wilson's success is a great story for BYU and for all those who have doubted him. He has shown that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
